Arizona Shelter's Long-Term Resident Dog Reminds People to 'Adopt Don't Shop'

This sweet girl is still looking for her forever home.

If you're in search of your next best friend, you'll want to check out your local animal shelters. Odds are, they're in dire need of extra space and will be more than happy to help. You won't be able to make a wrong choice with any rescue pet, but if you're lucky, you'll meet someone like Copper.

This sweet dog is a sociable Chow Chow mix who's waited nearly 2 years at @verdevalleyhumanesociety to find her forever home. We can't imagine why this happy gal keeps getting overlooked--she seems like the most affectionate pup!

We wish we could drop everything and meet this girl! We were absolutely enchanted by her smile from the very first second of the video, and we're happy to report that we aren't the only ones. Commenter @wordledlove wrote, "She’s perfect. The perfect family just hasn’t found her yet. Hang in there Cooper!" Now that's the kind of positivity we love to see!

A little love for a shelter pup can go a long way--because several TikTok users offered to foster her! It all began when @illyj2 asked, "can I foster her?" We sure hope one of these amazing folks is a match for Miss Copper!

If you're feeling as heartbroken as we are about this sweet girl, there's actually something you can do! The shelter wrote, "Can’t adopt but want to help? We’re a small shelter and your donations make the difference in caring for dogs like Copper. Find us on Venmo at VVHS1." We know the animals will appreciate every cent!
