Ariel Winter and Sarah Hyland Shut Down an Instagram Troll

Ariel Winter and Sarah Hyland might play sisters on Modern Family, but they're also just as close IRL. So when a troll came for Ariel on Instagram, the duo shut down the hater together.

Sarah posted a pic of the Modern Family cast, writing, “I love these people with all my heart. My family (well most of them) Here’s to a Season 10 ❤️ #modernfamily.” In the pic, Sarah’s wearing a ‘50s style dress and Ariel wears a black strapless mini; both look super cute and super happy to be hanging out with their castmates.

However, someone tried to rain on the girls' parade. The person wrote, “Why does Ariel look so thirsty all the time?" Ariel and Sarah were not having it and both clapped back at the Instagram hater with their own witty remarks.

"I'm SO thirsty!!! Haven't had water in hours. God I can't believe you can tell I'm dehydrated from this pic," Ariel wrote. After getting scorched, the user responded, "my b." Fans applauded her response, and Sarah jumped in as well.

“I can't believe they saw that you were dehydrated as well! I was with you in person and couldn't tell!!!!” She wrote. “DO YOU NEED WATER?? I'll come bring you some! I'll be over in 2 minutes."

Sarah also decided to address the antagonism head-on. "[W]hy is the sky green? There's no correct answer becaucse the question is wrong," she wrote. "Please don't leave negative comments on my page about my sister!!! Thank you byeeeee." Now that's how an older sibling sticks up for their family.

This isn’t the first time Ariel has faced unfair criticism and people who have attacked her appearance. Recently, she was shamed for her choice of church dress,. But her fans came to her defense, telling the hater, “It’s her body!” She’s never been afraid to celebrate her body and express herself via fashion, and we admire her body positivity and willingness to be who she is no matter what others may say. Plus, she’s got her “big sister” to back her up, proving that their onscreen sisterhood translates off the screen as well. Clearly, internet trolls are no match for the Dunphy sisters.
