Ariana Grande has a Wicked new hairstyle!
The "Thank U, Next" singer took to her Instagram to show off her new 'do—a hair transformation from dark to light.
She took to Instagram to reveal the change, joking in the caption that she got "new earrings." The photo featured the singer's side profile, showing off her half-moon tattoo behind her ear and pearl earrings.
However, the highlight of the snap was clearly the singer's new hair color! Gone were her brunette tresses and in its place, Grande's signature ponytail with a classic blonde.
A peak at the comments revealed fans are truly digging the new look, likely inspired by her new role in the Wicked musical. Grande will star as Glinda the good witch in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical. Cynthia Erivo will portray the green-skinned Elphaba. Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey is taking on the role of Fiyero.

Fans took note of the timing, with one writing, "Glinda energy ✨✨" as another emphasized that this was the "Glinda Era."

The director of Wicked, Jon M Chu, also chimed in, but did not pay any mind to the singers new hair color, instead complimenting earrings.
According to People, the film was originally set to release in Dec. 2021, but due to COVID-19, production was pushed back. It will now release in two parts at the beginning of Dec. 2024 and 2025.
