Ariana Grande has undergone quite the transformation lately – and we’re not talking about her Glinda the Good Witch getup for the upcoming Wicked movie! The 29-year-old “Side to Side” singer shared a video on TikTok to promote her R.E.M. Beauty ‘At the Borderline Eyeliner Marker,’ which she was using in the video to create her signature winged eyeliner look. And her fans thought she looked *very* different in the video!

Ari poked fun at herself in the video, which showed her having a conversation with herself, and asking, “Do you think your eyes are too smoky for everyday?” to which other Ari replies, “Yeah, I’m going through a phase, is that ok with you?” While the video was playful and jokey, and fan comments on the actual TikTok video were very complimentary, it was an entirely different story over on Twitter.

Fans Comment On Ariana Grande’s Appearance

Arianators took to Twitter to voice their concerns about the Victorious alum’s appearance, which several pubs including Ok! and The Sun called a “drastic change” from the way she usually looks. As fans got two Arianas for the price of one in the video, they analyzed her appearance while she was wearing a white oversized sweater as well as while she was wearing a purple vest top. The vest top seemed to show the “Positions” singer looking even smaller than usual, and perhaps even underweight. Or to quote one fan, “malnourished.”

Replying to a June 3rd @PopCrave Twitter post about Ariana’s video, one of the many fans who commented on her appearance said, “Someone said she looks AI generated,” followed by a crying emoji. “Every time I see pictures of this woman, she looks different,” wrote another, as many others couldn’t hide their concerns for her. “As an honest fan I’m so concerned about her,” said another worried fan, as another said, “I hope she’s okay,” followed by a sad face.

A few other fans wondered if she was on the controversial diabetes drug, Ozempic (which celebs like Anne Hathaway have been accused of being on) with one fan saying: “I need whatever she is taking for her weight loss. I know this girl has never worked out in her life so she must be on something. Need Ozempic.”

More fans had their own theories about why she looks so different at the moment, with a few thinking that she is simply overworked from the Wicked movie, or even depressed. “I think now she’s more depressed than ever,” one fan speculated, adding, “Maybe things are catching up to her finally and her body is becoming tired. She’s not well… her hair is thinning.”

Ariana Grande Previously Asked Fans To Stop Body Shaming Her

We don’t think Ariana will be too happy with what Twitter is saying about her; especially as she previously asked people to stop body shaming her! “I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and paid such close attention to,” the former The Voice coach said in a now viral TikTok video which she posted back in April, after fans thought she looked too thin in some pictures she shared on social media to promote R.E.M. Beauty.

“I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what,” she continued. “If you think you’re saying something good or well-intentioned, whatever it is: healthy, unhealthy, big, small, this, that, sexy, not sexy. We should really work towards not doing that as much.”

She went on to say, “There are many different kinds of beautiful,” adding, “I know personally, for me, the body you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body.” She said that the “healthy” body her fans may have been referring to was not what she considers her best self, noting that she was “on a lot of anti-depressants and drinking,” and called that version “the lowest point” of her life. “The second thing is you never know what someone is going through,” she added, “even if you are coming from a loving place or caring place.” She concluded by telling fans: “Be gentle with each other and with yourselves.”
