Ariana Grande Wore Space Buns with Scrunchies

Ariana Grande has spent much of 2018 changing up her hair. From ponytail heights with possibly hidden meanings to literally letting her hair down, the singer's superpower style has continually evolved. And for her latest memorable moment in hair, Ari jazzed up an old favorite and brought scrunchies to space buns.

Much like our favorite To All the Boys I've Loved Before character, Ariana embraced the scrunchie, choosing a carefree style that was perfect for a day spent in the rain. The Sweetener singer was spotted with friends in New York City and she was wearing two small buns that were nearly hidden by large scrunchies.

This isn't the first time that we've seen Ari rocking the space bun style. She previously chose space buns for a pizza outing with Pete Davidson.

Along with her scrunchie-covered buns, the singer wore wore minimal makeup. To literally no one's surprise, the rain didn't stop her from wearing her flawless, signature cat eye. She also wore just a coat of pink sheen to her lips. For her outfit of the day, she wore an oversized Knicks basketball sweatshirt, a silver necklace, sweatpants, and sneakers.

Ariana's outing comes just days after the singer's team announced that she was taking some time to "mend." In a statement shared with People, her team addressed why Ariana had been absent at the Emmys. "Contrary to reports, Ariana will not be attending the Emmys tonight," a rep told the magazine. "Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend. She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding."

The news of Ariana's decision to take some time out of the spotlight comes nearly one year after her concert in Manchester, England, was the site of a deadly terrorist attack, and days after her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller's death.

Ariana has remained relatively quiet on social media, but she did post two recent tributes to Mac. She also shared the official release date (September 23) of her upcoming perfume with followers.
