It's official, folks: Ariana Grande is engaged to her boyfriend Dalton Gomez. The 27-year-old "Thank U, Next" singer announced the news via Instagram on Sunday, December 20, in an adorable slideshow featuring herself and Gomez happily embracing — as well as the stunning engagement ring. To make matters even more exciting, she wore one of the most popular nail looks of the year for the momentous occasion: a French manicure with v-shaped tips.

The 27-year-old pop star showed off her gorgeous engagement ring in two of the five photos with her French manicure on full display. As you can see, she opted for a large oval cut diamond with a white pearl attached, which adds a really lovely unique touch. The first photo that showcases the ring is a black-and-white mirror selfie in which Grande is covering her eyes, while the second is a simple snap of her left hand that offers a much clearer look at the diamond.

Of course, it comes as no major surprise that the "7 Rings" singer is wearing a French manicure in her engagement photos, seeing as she's been a huge fan of the nail style all year. That being said, we love to see that she went for a non-traditional design, as it adds a fun and unexpected feel to the classic nail style.

To get this look at home, simply paint your nails a light pink shade and then use some nail tape or a stencil tool (like this one) to carve out your v-shaped tips before painting them on with an opaque white polish. Then seal everything in place with your go-to top coat.

It goes without saying, but we couldn't be happier for the newly engaged couple, who first went public with their relationship earlier this year, according to E! News. Congrats to Grande and Gomez for ending 2020 on such a high note. Next year is bound to be a very special one for the duo.
