Ariana Grande Shared a Supportive Text from Halsey About "Without Me" and "Thank U, Next"

Halsey and Ariana Grande now have the top two songs on the U.S. iTunes chart — for "Without Me" and "Thank u, next" respectively — and there's nothing but love and support between them.

On Nov. 16, Ariana Grande shared an exchange between her and Halsey where they alluded to their status as current major hitmakers. The texts seems to have occurred after Halsey shared news on Twitter about "Without Me" reaching no. 1 on iTunes ("Thank u, next" is no. 2): "Wow. Without Me is #1 on itunes. damn... manager woke me up at 7 am to tell me," Halsey tweeted. "How am I supposed to go back to sleep now. g’morning everyone. hello world. hello iTunes. i luv u. wow. WOW!"

Halsey then apparently texted Ariana, saying, "Honestly just happy it's us rn. The ladies need us. Time for an uprising." She added, "Attention world: we are no longer taking ur sh*t." To which Ari replied, "AT ALL."

The two stars do have a lot in common at the moment, besides their chart status. Both have recently been through high-profile breakups, Halsey with on-again off-again boyfriend G-Eazy, and Ariana with her ex-fiancé Pete Davidson. And both used those breakups to fuel confidence anthems seemingly about those relationships. While Ariana overtly name-drops her exes, Halsey has also alluded to the idea that "Without Me" is about G-Eazy.

"No wig, no colorful hair, no character, and it’s about my life and about my relationship that the world has watched so closely," Halsey told Zane Lowe about the song. She also released a music video that many people pointed out features a G-Eazy lookalike.

It's awesome that two strong women can unite together to celebrate their successes — and that they've given us such good breakup soundtracks in the process. Now I'm off to go play "Thank u, next" and "Without Me" on a single endless loop for the rest of my life.
