Ariana Grande Responds to Instagram Troll Comment About Her Ponytail
Ariana Grande knows that people have a lot to say about her signature hairstyle, but as her recent activity on social media proves, the "God Is a Woman" singer is rising above the hate in the best way possible.
On July 16, stylist Mimi Cuttrell posted a paparazzi photo of Ariana walking hand-in-hand with fiancé Pete Davidson. In the comments section of the post, a user wrote that they were "sick of that ponytail." Five short minutes later, the singer politely shut down the troll by replying, "I'm not."
The entire exchange was captured by @commentsbycelebs and reposted, and fans didn't hesitate to come to Ariana's defense in the comments section. "Y’all keep saying y’all tired of HER hair and she keeps not caring what anyone thinks. As she should," wrote one user. "If she wants to do her hair like that, why's it any of our business?" pointed out another.
In recent months, Ariana has been switching things up in the hair department, stepping away from the signature ponytail that has become her best-known beauty trait since the early days of her career. She made headlines back in May 2018 when she went bleached blonde and debuted a low ponytail for her Sweetener album imagery, and then again when she appeared on the cover of British Vogue with loose, buttery waves. Most recently, she's ditched her pony for the July 2018 cover of Elle, and on July 16, she revealed an icy blue shade which, she wore in sky-high pigtails for her new Reebok campaign.
However, just because Ari's been trying a few different looks of late, it doesn't mean her ponytail is going anywhere. "The pony has also gone through an evolution, and I'm proud of that," Ariana said in a May interview with The Fader. "Old pony? I don't know if she's that girl. But new pony? I like her." Beauty looks may come and go, but for Ariana, ponytails are forever.
