Ariana Grande might have made a secret reference to her late ex Mac Miller on her new album, Positions, and fans are just now realizing it.

Well, one fan in particular noticed—a TikToker who goes by @maraleebell—but now more have taken note, and they're getting emotional.

The reference happens across two songs. The first is on “Positions,” when Grande sings, “Heaven sent you to me,” and the second is in “Just Like Magic,” when she says, “Take my pen and write some love letters to heaven.” You can hear faint crickets in the background as Grande sings these lyrics, which both have to do with heaven. But what is the significance of that, you ask?

Well, Miller just so happens to have a song called “Crickets.” (It's unreleased, according to Genius.

As @maraleebell points out, this could be a coincidence, but Grande's music is incredibly personal and she's referenced Miller before, so there's precedent. Watch the TikTok, below, to hear this explanation in full.

Like I said, this maybe-reference is definitely hitting fans hard. “The fact that Ariana Grande plays a cricket sound every time she sings the word heaven in remembrance of Mac because of his track crickets makes me so sad nobody talk to me for the rest of my life,” one person tweeted.

Check out some more reactions for yourself, below:

Ariana Grande wrote a touching tribute to Mac Miller after he passed away in 2018. “I adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will,” she wrote. “I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.”
