Ariana Grande to Perform at the 2020 Grammy Awards

Finally!

It’s official: Ariana Grande will be taking the stage at the 2020 Grammy Awards, and what a difference a year makes!

The singer-songwriter announced the big news on Saturday, January 11, telling her followers “See you January 26.” In another tweet, she wrote “I’m excited” followed by the tearful emoji, showing just how much this opportunity means to her.

It’s clear that Ari’s fans are just as excited as she is, with many of them flocking to her mentions to congratulate her. “PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT COMING I KNOW THATS RIGHT!!!!!!!” one fan predicted, with another writing: “two albums, tour, live album and now this😭😭 wow ari. u feed us well. the way we won.”

Ariana, who is nominated for multiple awards including Best Pop Solo Performance and Album of the Year, won her first Grammy Award in 2019 for Best Pop Vocal Album — despite not attending the ceremony entirely. She had previously been scheduled to perform at last year’s awards, but pulled out after she was reportedly told she could not perform “7 rings.” At the time, Variety reported that Ari allegedly felt “insulted” by producers’ decisions, and despite reportedly discussing a compromise, the singer-songwriter did not perform or attend the Grammys.

Nevertheless, Ari was one of the most buzzed about artists at last year’s awards, especially when she showed off her would-be red carpet look: a custom Zac Posen ball gown that looked like it was straight off the pages of Cinderella. “When @zacposen makes u a custom gown it doesn’t matter if you’re singing or not 🌫 .... thank u,” Ari wrote on Instagram last February.

It’s clear that what’s in the past has stayed there, and we can’t wait to see what Ariana brings to the Grammys stage later this month — and which awards she brings home as well. Catch it all when the Grammys air on January 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
