- Ariana Grande is tied with Taylor Swift in leading this year's list of VMA nominations.
- She said she might not be able to attend the VMA's this year.
- Ariana's currently on her Sweetener Tour.
Ariana Grande has been on cloud nine for the past year. Not only did she release two albums in a span of six months, Sweetener and Thank U, Next, but she also made a ridiculous amount of money headlining this year's Coachella. Now, she has yet another reason to celebrate. Ariana's leading the list of VMA nominees this year with 10 nominations. She's tied with Taylor Swift, but she made it into top categories like Video of the Year, Song of the Year and Artist of the Year. But sadly Ariana might not make it to this year's show, due to scheduling conflicts with her Sweetener Tour.
A fan asked Ariana if she was attending the show and Ariana replied that she has shows in London the day before and after, before another fan corrected her and told her that her shows are actually in Paris.

Still, Paris to New Jersey is a pretty long trip to make, so it's completely understandable if Ariana chooses not to attend despite all her nominations. The VMAs are set to take place on Aug. 26 in New Jersey's Prudential Center.
A source told Page Six that her absence might make it hard for her to win those top awards. "MTV likes to give awards to bodies in the building,” the source said. “I think MTV is in a tough spot." Let's hope that's actually not that case.
If she does choose to attend, can she bless us with a surprise performance please?
