Ariana Grande Knows She's Only Got Two Outfits — but She'll Clap Back at Anyone That Brings It Up

You know the combination: thigh-high boots and an oversized sweatshirt, all topped off with a high ponytail. It's Ariana Grande's signature look and if someone's criticizing it, she's clapping back. That's exactly what happened on Twitter after someone mentioned that she's been wearing the same combination of things for years.

"She's been wearing the same boots/long shirt Combo for years..... we need the insta baddie," a Twitter user wrote. "She could easily stand out without wearing the same 2 outfits luv."

Grande didn't let the dig go unnoticed. She responded with a pair of emoji and "thank god i’m a singer then gimmeee a break / i don’t like having my photo taken, i escape the paparazzi almost every time / i never post photos that aren’t on stage but shit i promise i have cute ass clothes cuter than this fuckin candy jacket i-."

When other users chimed in, saying that all they wanted was the best for the performer, in addition to Grande explaining that she usually tries to dodge the paparazzi, she said that in her own world, she's plenty cute. That's what really matters, right?

"i already know but also i’m never even seen like ever," Grande responded. "i promise i look cute over here in my own world i haven’t even been able to put on a pair of fuckin boots lately because of the traumatic image i have in my head of these uh .... tik tok 'performers,'" she added, referencing the myriad of imitators that adopt her signature look on the video-sharing platform.

One TikTok user did manage to get props from the singer, however. Last month, Grande reached out to Paige Niemann, who adopts Grande's signature look when she shares videos. Niemann told Entertainment Tonight that Grande had nothing but kind words.

"She said, 'I'm flattered.' She wanted to let me know that I am beautiful in my own way," Niemann explained. "I said, 'Thank you and thank you for being so kind to me.' And she said, 'I'm proud of you.'"

So, while Grande may not be able to zip herself into a pair of boots now, she's ready to spread love, too.
