Ariana Grande Broke Her Silence on Pete Davidson With the Shadiest Tweets

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson's whirlwind relationship ended in mid-October when news broke they were calling off their engagement. The Sweetener singer hasn't said anything specific about the uncoupling—until now, at least. On Thursday night (November 1), she finally broke her silence on Davidson in a series of pointed tweets.

Here's what happened: a Grande fan circulated a promo for this weekend's Saturday Night Live on Twitter in which Davidson proposes to singer Maggie Rogers, she declines, and then he remarks "0 for 3." The joke is clearly a jab at the fact his relationship with Grande didn't work out—and fans aren't happy about it. "SNL is about to milk their breakup just like they did with the engagement," the person who uploaded the video wrote. Another fan then took the video and captioned it, "Tag yourself, I'm Maggie."

That's the tweet that got Grande's attention. She retweeted it and added a period punctuation mark for commentary. She then wrote two more tweets seemingly about Davidson and this SNL stunt. "For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh," Grande wrote. "Thank u, next."

This is Grande's first time acknowledging the breakup, but Davidson's mentioned it several times during recent standup routines. "So, obviously you know I, we [Ariana and I], broke up or whatever, but when me and her first got engaged, we got tattoos," Davidson reportedly said at a Los Angeles benefit show in October. "And it was like in a magazine like, 'Was Pete Davidson stupid?' And 93 percent of it said yes. So my boy, he was like, 'Don't listen to that shit, man. They're literally fucking haters.' And I'm like, 'Yeah, fuck that. I'm not stupid.' And the other day we were in my kitchen and he was like, 'Yo bro. Turns out you were stupid.'"
