Ariana Grande Admitted She's "Processing a Lot” After Crying Onstage During a Sweetener Show

She also thanked fans for accepting her “humanness.”

Ariana Grande is letting Arianators know she’s still healing after she cried onstage while singing 2018's “R.E.M” during one of her Sweetener World Tour performances.

In a now-deleted post, Ari opened up to her fans, admitting she’s “processing a lot” and thanking them for accepting her “humanness.”

“Tour is wild. life is wild. i’m grateful for the sea of love i have around me everyday and for the people who come to these shows and give all of us every ounce of energy they've got,” Ari wrote. “I'm grateful for the opportunity to sing to thousands of people every night. it's a dream come true. no matter how hard it gets.”

The “7 Rings” singer then got even more personal, sharing that her past hardships still affect her ver much while performing, but promising to push through.

“I’m grounded by gratitude and promise not to give up on what i've started,” Ari continued. “I feel everything very intensely and have committed to doing this tour during a time in my life when i'm still processing a lot ... so sometimes i cry a lot! i thank you for accepting my humanness. I'm not sure what i did to deserve to meet so many loving souls every night / to feel so much love, but i want you to know that it really does carry me through, i feel it and i appreciate it.”

Ari then also shared some encouraging words for fans that might also be going through a tough time, in turn revealing the reason she decided to pen the message in the first place. “I'm sharing this because i'm grateful and because i want you to know that if you too are hurting, you can push through and are not alone,” she wrote. “It is hard to balance taking care of the people around you, doing your job, and healing/taking care of yourself at the same time... but i want you to know, you aren't alone and i think you're doing great. love you.”

Though the reason Ari ultimately decided to delete the post is unknown, following the heartfelt letter, the singer took the time to further open up to fans on Twitter.

When a fan urged her to stop performing the songs that make her feel especially emotional onstage, Ari admitted the tour is somewhat therapeutic for her. “I will not put myself in harm's way. i’m healing thru this experience & happy to be doing it with u by my side. sometimes we have waves of sadness! that’s okay. i’m not afraid of it. love you. these shows have been making me really happy lately, even the tough parts,” she wrote.

Ari then explained why she'd been focused on performing on American soil, saying the upcoming European leg of the tour, which kicks off on August 17, in London, and concludes on October 16, also in London, is “going to be a big step.”

“I’m really excited about it and grateful to do it! but [...] keeping me closer to home for a majority of the dates is what’s best for my health rn,” Ari said, adding that she’s “getting better n feeling grateful. finding a balance between self preservation and doing what i love.”

The singer concluded the fan exchange by revealing that, despite the emotional roller coaster, she’s very much enjoying the tour, saying the experience has been all about “baby steps.”
