Ardusse Men’s Fall 2021
What does it mean to grow up and enter adulthood? Gaetano Colucci, the designer behind up-and-coming men’s wear brand Ardusse, developed his second collection as an introspective journey of a young creative who’s making a jump onto the international fashion scene. Drawing inspiration from his childhood memories and Dante’s dark forest as a rite of passage, Colucci delivered a poetic collection filled with wardrobe staples.
The look: A reassuring interpretation of key men’s wear pieces, from tactile knitwear to velvety separates and precious overcoats in rich patterns and decorations, which can be worn by women, too.

Quote of note: “I was thinking about the loss of innocence, which coincides with life really taking off and also about Dante’s ‘Inferno’ and the dark forest in which you somehow get lost,” Colucci said.
Standout pieces: 1940s-inspired roomy pinstriped suits layered over shrunken chunky cable knits; pleated sartorial pants paired with shirts sprouting dramatic ruffles; a workwear-inspired uniform crafted from old velvet upholstery in a cozy brown nuance; a crewneck with a jacquard motif featuring two Bambi fawns playing in the forest developed in collaboration with painter Roberto Maria Lino; nightgown coats in shimmering velvet or crafted from tapestry-like fabrics.
Takeaway: With his dreamy take on traditional tropes of masculinity, Colucci injected softness and a certain naïf flavor to his charming and intriguing collection.
