Arch Bark returns Saturday with dog yoga, adoptions, and more

ST. LOUIS – This weekend, Purina is bringing back Arch Bark to Gateway Arch National Park for a day filled with activities for humans and their canines.

Visitors are invited to the fun Saturday, April 20, starting at 10 a.m. and lasting until 1 p.m.

The fun kicks off with performances from The Purina Incredible Dog Team at 10:45 a.m. and noon, showcasing how training and nutrition can transform any dog’s abilities. These dogs will perform high-flying tricks based on principles and flying discs, according to the website.

The main event is a one-mile dog walk throughout the park, beginning at 11 a.m. Registration for the walk is free and required before participating. Pre-registration can be found here or from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. the day of.

For those who have been thinking about bringing a furry friend home, there will also be on-site adoptions at the event. Speak Rescue and Sanctuary will host a tent with adoptable dogs.

A popular yoga session, Dog Yoga, also known as ‘Doga,’ will be held under Arch grounds for a morning session focused on humans and their dogs. Urban Breath will lead the session.

Four-legged friends will have the opportunity to get involved in learning about the B.A.R.K. Ranger program, which allows pets to become ambassadors of safe pet handling in national parks.

Other activities throughout the event include free puppy photos, caricature drawings, a DJ, lawn games, a bubble bus, and a chance to ask experts about your dog’s behavior or training.
