Arapahoe Basin Auctioning Final 'Pali' Chairs For Charity

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Colorado retired the beloved Pallavicini Lift (known as Pali) after the '19-'20 winter season. The lift had been a workhorse for A-Basin, serving some of the mountain's best terrain since 1978.

The original Pali was torn down in the summer of 2020. The chairs sold like hotcakes to the highest bidders with profits going to charity.

On September 18th, 2023, in a move that nobody saw coming, Arapahoe Basin announced that they are auctioning two remaining Pali chairs with proceeds going to charity. Keep reading below for more information.

The first chair is currently available for auction through September 29th, 2023. The second chair will go to auction between September 30 - October 14.

Here's more information about where the funds from the auction will be donated:

"All profits from these last two chairs will be split evenly between the Summit County Care Clinic, The Summit Foundation, Family Intercultural Resource Center and Summit County Cares Emergency Fund. In the next month we will have two week long periods to grab the last two and final Pali chairs. We will also be selling the pali rope during this period. Please read all of the info on this page to understand how this works. And good luck!"

This seems like the perfect opportunity for a couple of the Arapahoe Basin faithful to claim a coveted piece of history. Personally, I can't imagine anything cooler than owning an original Pali chair.

Be prepared to shell out the big bucks if you want one of these chairs. The current listing is already at $4,650!
