What do you get when you mix science, food, and strong women characters? The answer is a new Apple TV+ series, Lessons in Chemistry.

Listen, it's safe to say we know a thing or two about cooking shows. (We have The Pioneer Woman as our role model, after all!) So, you could imagine our excitement when we got word that a fictional show—touching on the territory we're all too familiar with—would be coming to our screens soon.

Brie Larson takes the lead role in Lessons in Chemistry, which centers around a witty, practicing chemist who somehow manages to stumble her way into the culinary world as the host of a 1950's cooking show. If you're wondering how the crossover makes sense—keep reading, because you're in for a scientific treat!

This is another TV series based on a book. This time a drama based on Bonnie Garmus' novel of the same name, which has seen massive success. (We're talking weeks and weeks spent on the New York Times Best Seller list, and rave reviews across the board.)

Lessons in Chemistry is perfect for those who love a solid fast paced story, but don't mind becoming emotionally invested in characters who will ultimately break their heart. If this sounds like your cup of tea, read on for everything we know about Lessons in Chemistry, including the cast, plot, premiere date, and more.

Where can I watch Lessons in Chemistry?

Lessons in Chemistry is a story about Elizabeth Zott, a passionate chemist whose extensive knowledge landed her a role at the Hastings Research Institute. Based in the 1950s—the fact that she was a woman was enough to ruffle the feathers and white coats of her all-male colleagues. But her strong personality and positive mentality was enough to keep her going. She develops a romance for Calvin, a fellow scientist at Hasting's—but sees herself become a single mother after a streak of bad luck. Fast forward some years later, Elizabeth is no longer a practicing chemist, but now a widely known TV Host and celebrity chef of daytime show, Supper at Six. Sticking to her scientific roots, her cooking show became extremely popular through her application of chemistry in her recipes and kitchen hacks. The story is full of unimaginable twists, heart wrenching moments, and comedic relief.

Is there a trailer?

Yes! It's pretty short, so consider it more of a teaser rather than a trailer. But it's enticing nonetheless! In it, you can see glimpses of the '50s aesthetic, chemistry galore, and a food-star in action!
