St. Patrick's Day celebrates Irish culture and Ireland's patron saint. But hey, this is a food website, so naturally we're focused on how it's also a major food holiday. Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, beer—you get the picture. This year, the holiday falls on Thursday, March 17.
Lucky for us, tons of chain restaurants are gearing up to celebrate with freebies and food deals. Read on for the best of the bunch
Applebee's
Applebee's has some truly lucky drinks deals called the $5 Saintly Sips. Try the Tipsy Leprechaun with Jameson Irish Whiskey (of course), melon liqueur, blue Curaçao, sour mix, lemon-lime soda, and a gold sugar rim. Or go for the Pot O' Gold Colada, which basically a piña colada with Captain Morgan rum and mango.
Baskin-Robbins
Try the Golden Oreo Irish Cream flavor at the ice cream chain. This new scoop has Belgian chocolate flavored ice cream, Irish cream, Golden Oreo cookie pieces, and a ribbon of graham cracker crumbs. Available now!
Chevys, El Torito, and Acapulco
Xperience Restaurant Group properties Chevys, El Torito, and Acapulco will all offer a Shamrock-a-rita (a margarita with Midori melon liqueur) in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, starting at $12 from March 14 to March 20.
Chili's
In honor of St. Paddy's, Chili's marg of the month for March is the the Lucky Jameson, which is your classic marg made with Jameson. Oh, and it's only $5.
Del Taco
When the guac is free, you know you've got the luck of the Irish. Such will be the case on St. Patrick's Day at Del Taco: Order through the Del Yeah! Rewards app, and the guac is free!
Einstein Bros. Bagels
Want to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but still get your daily bagel? Head over to an Einstein Bros and ask for a Shamrock Shmear, a special green-colored plain cream cheese only available on March 17.
