After an incredibly tense and gripping season one, Apple TV+'s Hijack is officially set to return for a second season and we cannot wait.

The seven-part drama series starred Idris Elba as business negotiator Sam Nelson, who was travelling from Dubai to London when the plane he was flying on gets hijacked and he, along with his fellow passengers, must find a way to bring the plane to safety and get home.

If, like us, you're desperate to know more about what it's in store next for Sam Nelson, then this is everything you need to know about Hijack season two.

When was Hijack season two confirmed?

On 31st January 2024, Apple TV+ made the very exciting announcement that Hijack season two is officially in the works.

Apple TV+ European creative director Jay Hunt said of the exciting news, "Global audiences were on tenterhooks watching Idris’s riveting performance in Hijack, and we’re thrilled to be working again with 60Forty and Idiotlamp on an equally compelling season two."

And Idris Elba who stars as lead role Sam Nelson, and serves as an executive producer on the series, has already teased we can expect another tense and gripping season.

"I was floored by the overwhelming audience response after season one," he said. "It’s top secret what new situation unfolds for Sam Nelson, but I can assure you we will bring the high octane back.”

Bring it on.

What will happen in Hijack season two?

As Idris Elba mentions the plot of season two is "top secret" but given the name of the show we're going to guess some sort of hijacking situation occurs.

As well as evading some highly likely tense situation, we'd also perhaps expect the new season to explore more of Sam's relationship with his son Kai and his ex-wife Marsha.

Who will star in Hijack season two?

Right now the only cast member we're certain is returning is Idris Elba as Sam Nelson. However, we'd also likely be expecting Christine Adams to return as Marsha, Sam's ex wife, Max Beesley as DI Daniel O'Farrel and Jude Cudjoe as Sam's son Kai.

As for the rest of the cast, we'll have to wait for more news and announcements.
