Apple Music Users Have Their Own Version of 'Spotify Wrapped'—Here's How To Find It

The end of the year brings the holidays, as well as a lot of nostalgia about the year we just had. It also brings Spotify users their Spotify Wrapped, which does said reminiscing, but through the music we listened to for the past 11 months or so. The day Spotify Wrapped drops is always full of screenshots of people’s top artists, top songs and more. And it’s enough to make non-Spotify users—like those who use Tidal or Apple Music—feel left out.

But Apple Music users do get their own version of Spotify Wrapped—although it's not officially called “Apple Music Wrapped.” Their version is called Apple Music Replay, and it offers users a similar rundown of what they listened to over the last year. So what is Apple Music Replay and how do you find it? We’ve got you covered, so read on to find out.

What Is Apple Music Wrapped?

Although "Apple Music Wrapped" isn't its "official" name, Apple Music Replay is a very similar concept to Spotify Wrapped (if not the exact same thing for Apple Music users).

As Apple writes on its website, Apple Music Replay allows you to “relive the music that defined your year.” You can “get insights into the music that you listen to throughout the year” and receive a playlist with your top songs from that year, as well as every year you’ve been a member of Apple Music before that. So yes, everything Spotify Wrapped does, pretty much.

In order to figure out someone’s top songs and artists, Apple Music looks at users’s listening history within the app, the number of times they played “a song, artists, album, playlist genre and station,” along with the amount of time they spent with a specific song, artist, etc.

What’s With the Spotify Wrapped vs. Apple Music Replay Beef?

There are lots of memes surrounding Spotify Wrapped regarding Apple Music users, specifically. Some people are poking fun at the fact that Apple Music users are posting their Apple Music Replay screenshots to begin with, while others find it funny to think about the FOMO Apple Music users might be feeling.

According to Digital Trends, there are more people using Spotify than Apple Music, with 44 million U.S. users versus 32.6 million U.S. users, respectively.

With that said, the Spotify Wrapped versus Apple Music beef is really just a “my horse is bigger than your horse” issue. While many think that Apple Music is a better app with higher quality music (and they pay the artists more per stream), the cultural hold Spotify has on people, along with different social aspects between friends, keeps Spotify users coming back and seemingly unwilling to leave.

How Do You Find Your Apple Music Wrapped?

Okay, so if you have Apple Music, but you don’t know how to partake in Apple Music Replay and see what your listening history broke down to in 2023, here’s how to find Apple Music’s version of Wrapped.

With an up-to-date phone, go to https://replay.music.apple.com/ and sign in with whatever Apple ID you use for your Apple Music account. And there! You’ll be able to see your Apple Music Replay insights and get your end-of-year playlist full of your 2023 greatest hits.

If you want to share it with your friends and followers (similarly to how people are sharing their Spotify Wrapped results), go down to “Replay: Your Top Songs by Year” on Apple Music. Open 2023’s Replay playlist and either take a screenshot of your top artists or songs or share the playlist like you would with any other Apple Music playlist, as shown on Apple's site.
