To buy or not to buy a tablet: That is the age-old question. Well, now’s your moment, given the fact that Apple’s 10th generation iPad (that’s the 2022 edition, for all those wondering) is on sale for a whopping $100 off as part of the Amazon Black Friday sale that’s happening now. While this particular 64GB model typically sells for $449, it’s marked down to $349 for a limited time ahead of the holiday season—a major steal.
Still on the fence about why it’s a great gift for yourself or someone else? You’d be surprised at the many uses beyond what you’d expect. For example, yes, you can use it to surf the web, binge your favorite shows (The Crown, anyone?) and prop it up as a digital cookbook while whipping up your favorite meal. But it’s the under-the-radar uses that surprise and delight, like the ability to put pen (or Apple Pencil, on sale right now for $89) to digital paper to jot down big ideas using an app like Freeform. You can also rely on Good Notes, another beloved iPad app, to keep track of everything from grocery lists to to-dos.
This particular model, which came out in fall 2022, also features fast connectivity, ample storage and a 10.9-inch liquid retina display. The main differences between the previous model—the 9th generation iPad, also on sale for $249 from $329—are the enhanced battery life, USB-C charging port and access to tons of iPad-optimized apps. A larger screen and adjusted camera position also make it easier to FaceTime.
Currently, it’s Apple’s latest and greatest as 2023 models have not yet been announced and new iterations are not expected before 2024.
Bottom line: This 2022 model is an investment that’s worth it—and one that’s oh-so-portable, too.
