While I hate to be that person who starts rambling on about back-to-school before summer has even officially started (forgive me!), Apple is offering a pretty sweet deal for students and teachers that you're probably going to want to hear about. Now, please continue inflating those pools, or maybe fix yourself a refreshing fruity spritzer with our summer cocktail guide as we dive into this special promotion.

Apple is currently offering a free pair of second generation AirPods to any students and school faculty and staff members who make select Mac and iPad purchases. The complimentary AirPods have a $159 value (sadly, the deal does not include the newer noise-canceling AirPods Pro, but you can upgrade to them for an additional $90). The following purchases will qualify you for the deal: iMac, iMac Pro, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPad Pro, and iPad Air.

To get into the specifics, students must be in grades K-12 or enrolled at a higher education institute. Yes, parents buying for their students will be eligible for the deal, too. Any employee of a public or private K-12 or higher education institution will also be entitled to free AirPods. The deal began on June 15 and will run until September 29, 2020, according to the official terms and conditions.

If you were already thinking of buying a new Mac or iPad for yourself or child, this is the universe telling you it's go time. These wireless headphones connect instantly when placed into your ears, allow you to summon Siri with just your voice, and charge directly inside the carrying case. It's some pretty futuristic technology, plus they'll never tangle. You can shop qualifying Macs and iPads here.
