Prince William was a looker back in the day.

Though many of us might have forgotten this fact over the years, Twitter users and royal fanatics alike seem to have just reawakened to this sentiment upon glimpsing a rare photo of the prince exposing more of his assets than usual.

This morning, the Duke of Cambridge took to his official royal Twitter account to post a photo of himself receiving his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. "To all those working on the vaccine rollout - thank you for everything you've done and continue to do," he wrote.

Now, William is not the first royal to have received the shot. He follows family members including his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, who was vaccinated in January, and his father, Prince Charles, who received his jabs the following month.

But back to William and that arm. Although the Duke of Cambridge's post was meant to be a well-meaning message of public service, it additionally provoked an entirely different reaction among followers on Twitter, many of whom openly expressed what seemed to be their one primary takeaway: a rare sighting of the duke's bare, chiseled limb.

Perhaps it was that the duke had been smothered underneath his overworn blue sweater for so long that our attention became all but numbed to his body's entire upper half. Perhaps we all assumed by this point that the sweater was William's naked skin in itself. In any case, below are several of the hilarious responses evoked by Prince William's tweet.
