Here's Why Meghan Markle Might Make Her Next Appearance Sooner Than You Think

It's been almost three weeks since we saw Meghan Markle and baby Archie out in public, which has fans speculating when the Duchess of Sussex will make her next official royal appearance. Well, it might be much sooner than we all thought. Though the new mom has been staying out of the spotlight since giving birth—with close friends like Jessica Mulroney and Serena Williams quietly visiting her and the baby at their Frogmore Cottage home—it's possible that we'll see Markle again at this year's Trooping the Colour.

The event, which takes place on Saturday, June 8, is a public parade held each year to honor Queen Elizabeth II's birthday. Considering the ceremony is important to the Queen, we can probably expect Markle to attend even though she's still on be maternity leave. (As Cosmo points out, Kate Middleton did the same last year after giving birth to Louis; she was on a sixth-month maternity leave.)

Of course, Kensington Palace hasn't confirmed whether she'll appear on the balcony with her husband, Prince Harry, and his family, so nothing's official-official. However, that doesn't mean we can't hold out hope that she will: Markle made her Trooping the Colour debut last year, less than a month after her royal wedding to Harry.

The couple, who had just gotten back from their honeymoon, arrived in a horse-drawn carriage together. As usual, Markle looked stunning in a pink off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress, complete with a matching pink Philip Treacy hat.

Though we doubt she and Harry will bring their newborn son, Archie, to the event, fans won't have to wait too long to see him again: The royals usually baptize their children when they're two or three months old. The good news is that there will likely be one new royal member on the balcony: Prince William and Kate Middleton's son Prince Louis will probably make his Trooping the Colour debut this year.
