Prince Harry may have had his eye on Meghan Markle long before the couple ever met.

According to royals expert Katie Nicholl, Harry had a crush on the actress from watching her on "Suits" two years before he was ever introduced to the star.

"He had a crush on [Markle's character] Rachel Zane two years before he met Meghan," Nicholl explains in Channel 4 special "When Harry Met Meghan: A Royal Romance" airing on Friday. "The reason I know is because I was having drinks with one of his friends."

Not only did he have a crush on Markle from her time on the USA hit, but he went so far as to describe her as his "ideal girl."

"She told me she'd been on a night out with Prince Harry," Nicholl continued. "He was single at the time, so she said, 'Harry, who's your ideal girl?' And he said, 'Meghan Markle from 'Suits.''"

If Nicholl's story is correct, that would mean that Harry has had his eye on Meghan since 2014, as they first met in July of 2016. They've been dating ever since, with more and more details of their notoriously private relationship slowly coming to light as public intrigue grows.

The pair made their public debut at Harry's Invictus Games in Markle's adopted hometown of Toronto, where they adorably held hands and packed on some PDA at various events throughout the two-week event.

Markle even reportedly met Queen Elizabeth earlier this fall with an intimate tea in her "private sitting room" at Buckingham Palace.

Multiple reports have claimed that the couple is already engaged, but are waiting for the right time to come forward with their exciting news. The reports have not been confirmed or denied by palace officials, who will be the first to officially announce the engagement when they're ready.
