OB/GYN Dr. Nita Landry explains that approximately 2 to 8 percent of women of child-bearing age can be affected by an extreme period called premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). She explains that PMDD can be accompanied by:

  • Feeling sad or hopeless

  • Experiencing anxiety

  • Tension

  • Irritability

  • Feeling angry
