Who's Nathan Chen dating? Here's what we know

Nathan Chen entered the Olympics as one of the most talked-about names in figure skating, and after his performance on the Game’s opening night, he’s going to stay that way. Tonight, Nathan Chen skated for the Figure Skating Teams Competition. He performed his short program to Benjamin Clementine’s “Nemesis,” and expectations ran super high.

Unfortunately, Nathan took a major tumble during his first skate at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. But don’t worry, Nathan will have all the time in the world to reclaim his position at the top of the figure skating world before the Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea end. But as much as we cringed watching Nathan’s first skate for Team USA, we couldn’t help but swoon watching his incredible, graceful skating abilities. And that got us wondering, what’s this adorable 18-year-old’s story?

Nathan Chen hails from Salt Lake City, Utah, and he fell in love with figure skating when he was only 3 years old. So any lady in his life would have to compete with his first love on the ice. However, he also studied ballet and has played the piano since he was 5 years old. That makes him quite the adorable and artsy catch! While we don’t know much about Nathan Chen’s dating life, we do have a few details that suggest he may already have someone special in his life.

Nathan Chen was dating fellow figure skater Amber Glenn.

According to Heavy, Nathan admitted to a fan on Instagram that he loved her a lot. Amber is a U.S. Junior Figure Skating Champion, so she and Nathan likely had a ton in common.

However, lately, the pair have gone quiet. Before that, it was common to see them adorably tweeting at one another, like this sweet Valentine’s message from 2016.

Now that their cute posts have slowed down, we don’t know exactly what that means. They may still be together, or they may have quietly split. Whatever their situation now, we know that Amber is probably cheering Nathan on from afar. Because we all want to see Nathan bring home a nice shiny medal.

We’re surprised Nathan has even had time for dating! According to an interview with Team USA, Chen says that he’s definitely missing out on a normal teen life. He said, “I never got to go to prom or homecoming or a lot of the typical teenage stuff. But, if you think about it, I’ve gotten to go and meet different people and travel all over the world.” Which, true.

According to NBC Olympics, Nathan became “the first man to perform four quads in a free skate,” and for this, he won a bronze medal. (Remember, this is two years ago — he was fourteen!)

Regardless of his performance, Nathan Chen is clearly headed for figure skating greatness. While we don’t totally know his dating life, we do know to expect amazing things from this teen.
