HGTV's recent announcement that Dale Earnhardt Jr. and wife Amy Earnhardt will star in a four-part renovation series in early 2018 has left a lot of fans wanting to know more about the couple.

The newlyweds first met when Dale Jr. hired Atlanta architectural firm Wakefield Beasley & Associates to work on his North Carolina home. Amy Reimann, an interior designer, was placed on the project. "What started as a professional and creative relationship...ultimately blossomed into something much more," writes HGTV's David L. Haynes.

Dale, 42, proposed to Amy, 34, while vacationing in Germany, during a visit to the Lutheran church Earnhardt's ancestors attended three centuries ago. The couple, who reside in Mooresville, North Carolina, tied the knot on New Year's Eve 2016 at Childress Vineyards in Lexington, North Carolina.

Now, with his racing career coming to retirement at the end of this season, the third-generation NASCAR champion is excited to start a new chapter in his life. He and Amy will be working their magic on a historic home in Key West, according to a tweet by Dale Jr.
