'Would it not just be simpler to put the wheel on the back seat?'

@Ivan Hudecek:

Too many irritants. Obviously (as mentioned already several times) DCI Stuart would have been suspended.

What was worse - that Dr. Finch for some reason collected "trophies" from one victim but not others. Anyway he already knew that the police were investigating - surely he would have got rid of the evidence.

Into the bargain the boot of Audi A4 does not have the spare wheel making the boot space smaller - absolute nonsense.

Even then - would not it be simpler to just put the wheel on the back seat?

'To those nitpicking about Cassie being able to keep the case - it was a drama not a documentary'

@E Hatfield:

I thought it was vastly superior to almost all modern TV. To those nitpicking about Cassie being able to keep the case etc. it was drama, not a documentary.

The only snag for me was that it had to be Alex Jennings because he was the most famous actor in it. But his family were great, as were the families etc. of the other four suspects, and of the victim.

A rare enjoyable treat from TV these days, as good as Happy Valley.

'The most PC and incompetent police partnership in history'

@Dran Good:

I assumed Season 3's baddie had to be the twin sister - are they not always evil? - since the actress played a dodgy type in The Fall. I must confess the 4 main suspects blended into one boring blob. Almost as boring as the Plods who get one or two lines per episode if they're lucky.

As for the leads - the fast-ageing broad from Spooks/MI5 and her well coiffed Indian sidekick, they must surely be the most PC and incompetent police partnership in history. How far British TV has sadly fallen from the days of The Professionals and The Sweeney.

'The ending provided was all the better for not being too unlikely'

@Ed Richards:

 I didn't see it coming and fell into the trap of thinking it couldn't be Dr Finch because he'd been arrested 'too early'.  I was expecting some crazy plot twist so that it would end up being the dishy ex-cop whose name I've forgotten.  I also considered the twin sister.

But the ending provided was most satisfying and was all the better for not being too unlikely, given the evidence we'd had so far.

It did feel a lot like 'the end', but we can hope!

Certainly the best UK crime drama for a long time.

'I found the last episode pretty pathetic'

@Peter Cullen:

It was highly probable that it would be Dr Finch right from the beginning, because the characters were too stereotypical. So, it had to be the best behaved,  just a matter of placing the right clues.

It could have been someone else, such as the former detective or sister;  but because there were no clues during the episodes, it would have been particularly bad writing to implicate anyone else at the end.  As it was, I found the last episode pretty pathetic. Such a pity to end the well-acted and dramatic serial so badly!

'Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar are probably the two best cast actors in British TV drama'

@Tony Michaels:

Working on the premise that the previous two series of Unforgotten have always ended with the person you absolutely, positively least suspect of being the culprit having their collar felt I bet the current Mrs Michaels a large Donner Kebab that it was Hayley’s twin sister.

Yeah, so that’ll be with extra chillies and mint yoghurt sauce my dear? Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar are probably the two best cast actors in contemporary British TV drama.

Excellent stuff. Loved it.
