Here's Who Game of Thrones Ended Up Putting on the Iron Throne

After seasons and seasons of waiting, we finally know who gets the Iron Throne on HBO's Game of Thrones. Are you ready for the answer? Drum roll, please.

OK, no more delay. Here we go: GoT revealed this evening that the Iron Throne was actually melted by Drogon and Bran Stark was anointed king of the six kingdoms. Sansa broke the North from the seven kingdoms and became the queen in the North. Are you shocked? Surprised? Happy? Sad?

The "Who ends up on the Iron Throne?" debate has been raging on since the inception of GoT. With this much buildup, there's no way showrunners could've come up with an answer that would satisfy everyone.

Tonight's bombshell episode wraps up the Game of Thrones series once and for all. If you've been following the news, then you know fans aren't exactly thrilled with how season eight has panned out. Derision for the show hit critical mass last week when a petition surfaced on Change.org urging HBO to remake season eight with "competent writers." It amassed more than 800,000 signatures. (Lili Reinhart was not one of them.)

Jessica Chastain was one of the celebrities who voiced their concerns over how GoT's eighth season unfolded. After Sansa's sexual assault was framed as an "empowering" growth lesson, the Molly's Game actress tweeted, "Rape is not a tool to make a character stronger. A woman doesn’t need to be victimized in order to become a butterfly. The #littlebird was always a Phoenix. Her prevailing strength is solely because of her. And her alone. #GameOfThrones."

Now that GoT is over, fans have the prequel starring Naomi Watts to look forward to. The show doesn't have a premiere date, but it's reportedly titled Bloodmoon. I'm already invested.
