Will Gluck and team are ringing in the New Year by celebrating the fact that Anyone But You has surpassed $32.8 million at the box office.

The romcom starring Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney had a budget of $25 million and scooped up over $27 million at the domestic box office and a further $5.8 million internationally.

After a rocky start when the trailer landed - and fans weren't feeling it -the team behind the film managed to claw back interest when first reactions dropped.

Now, it's gaining traction at the box office and pulling in audience members.

The Much Ado About Anything retelling follows Bea and Ben, who find themselves forced together during a wedding after their fiery first date turns sour.

Shakespeare reimaginings once dominated the romcom oeuvre, with films such as She's The Man and 10 Things I Hate About You being firm favorites among fans of the genre.

Gluck has previously directed Easy A and Friends With Benefits, two modern hits that found their audience.

Now he adds Anyone But You to the mix, hoping it lands that same cult status among romcom enthusiasts.
