Anya Taylor-Joy’s See-Through Slip Is the Perfect Look for the Daring Summer Bride

If you haven’t noticed by now, Anya Taylor-Joy doesn’t exactly do things the conventional way—especially when it comes to style. The 28-year-old actor constantly pushes the envelope with her wardrobe, whether she’s wearing an arrow-studded Paco Rabanne slip or a sculpted metal Balmain minidress.
Indeed, even her bridal look embraced eccentricity. When she wed singer Malcolm McRae in April 2022, Taylor-Joy eschewed the typical bridal white, instead opting for a beige princess gown embroidered with colorful natural illustrations, custom-made by Dior. Now, in her latest street-style appearance, the Golden Globe winner has again provided an alternative for fellow daring brides.
Taylor-Joy was photographed exiting her hotel in Cannes on Tuesday wearing a summery ivory ensemble, the centerpiece of which was a strapless transparent Jacquemus slip. The see-through piece featured floral embellishments all over, a high leg slit, and a long train she carried in one hand.
The actor finished off the look with strappy lace-up heels in white from Femme LA, as well as a straw Jacquemus hat with a black ribbon, which she wore tied around her neck. (Taylor-Joy seems to have an affinity for straw sun hats at the moment, judging from the other—gigantic—Jacquemus piece she wore the day before.)

Taylor-Joy recalled her intimate New Orleans elopement with McRae in a recent interview with Elle. “We’re just real romantics. We were born on the same day. And we wanted to make sure that our first experience was something that was completely for us,” she said. “So we eloped in New Orleans with our two best friends and had the time of our lives. It was magical. But I’m lucky to say that the second experience—with all of our families—was so beyond beautiful, and I just feel very, very lucky.”
