Anya Taylor-Joy made her Oscars red-carpet debut in the most glamorous way possible.
The Queen's Gambit star arrived at Los Angeles's Dolby Theatre, where the 96th annual Academy Awards ceremony is taking place, dressed in a strapless sequined ball gown courtesy of Dior Haute Couture. The incredible silver-gray piece features a voluminous skirt covered in layers of bedazzled petal-shaped flaps—a nod to the iconic Junon dress that Christian Dior had designed for his Fall/Winter 1949-1950 collection (Natalie Portman had worn a similar look to the Cannes Film Festival last year).
While Taylor-Joy isn't nominated tonight, the actor will be taking the stage as one of the ceremony's many A-lister presenters. Other presenters include fellow Dune costar Zendaya, as well as America Ferrera, Bad Bunny, Emily Blunt, Jennifer Lawrence, Ariana Grande, and Issa Rae.
This is Taylor-Joy's first time at the Academy Awards, though she did attend Vanity Fair's Oscars after-party in 2022. At the time, she went for a gothic romantic look in a transparent corseted dress made out of gauzy black fabric. She paired the look with a feminine fishnet veil.
Taylor-Joy has had an eventful and fashion-filled past few weeks in the lead up to the release of Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two.
At the New York premiere, she pulled a transparent black ball gown layered over a gold slipdress from Maison Margiela's acclaimed Spring 2024 couture collection, which had just debuted in January.
As a Tiffany & Co. ambassador, she styled the head-turning look with an array of gold and diamond-encrusted jewelry, from a pair of open hoop earrings to a wraparound bracelet.
