The long-awaited trailer for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has arrived, and fans are hyped to see what George Miller has up his sleeve this time.

The film is the origin story of renegade warrior Furiosa before she teamed up with Mad Max in Fury Road, starring Anya Taylor-Joy in the titular role.

As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

Joining her are Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Angus Sampson, Daniel Webber and Nathan Jones in this epic action adventure story from writers Nick Lathouris and Academy Award-winning George Miller.

Miller's Mad Max universe dates back to 1979 when he told the story of a self-destructing world where a vengeful Australian policeman sets out to stop a violent motorcycle gang. It starred Mel Gibson, Joanne Samuel, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Steve Bisley, Tim Burns, Roger Ward, Lisa Aldenhoven, David Bracks and Bertran Cadart.

Success for the series boomed after a 30-year hiatus when Miller made Mad Max: Fury Road, which scooped up six Oscars and scored 199th place on IMDb's top-rated movies list.

Fury Road takes place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where a woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in search for her homeland with the aid of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper and a drifter named Max.

The cast included Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh-Keays-Byrne, Josh Helman, Nathan Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Riley Keough.

The latest addition seems to mirror that hyper-stylized world, with Anya Taylor-Joy commanding the screen.
