Antonela Roccuzzo made a statement black arrival on the 2023 Ballon D’Or red carpet in Paris on Monday, wearing a custom Louis Vuitton dress.

To support her superstar pro-soccer player husband Lionel Messi in winning his eighth Ballon D’Or award, Roccuzzo’s frock was modeled after the brand’s XXL detail one-shoulder dress. Her frock featured an oversize gold buckle on the shoulder and a large zipper on the side.

Styled by Bárbara Ruiz, Roccuzzo completed her look with a Louis Vuitton signature wrap coat, the brand’s vanity case bag and Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

Alongside Roccuzzo at the award event was Messi, who coordinated in a custom Louis Vuitton tuxedo and a Tambou watch. The couple, who wed in 2017, was also joined by their three sons Thiago, Mateo and Ciro.

Messi’s soccer ball-shaped Ballon D’Or was encased in a Louis Vuitton trunk, the details of which included a Louis Vuitton monogram canvas and a gold-painted V motif on the outside. Earlier in October, WWD exclusively reported that the brand was partnering with weekly soccer magazine France Football (presenters of the annual award event) on travel cases for the trophies.

Tiffany & Co. is among the other luxury brands that have collaborated with high-profile sporting events, with the jewelry design house creating trophies for the U.S. Open Men’s and Women’s Singles.

Messi plays for major league soccer club Inter Miami, cofounded by David Beckham. His ambassadorships include Adidas, Pepsi and Louis Vuitton, where he has been the brand’s ambassador for its men’s collections since 2019.
