Finding the right foundation can make you feel a bit like Goldilocks. You may want a foundation that gives you a pretty glow, but then you have to make sure it doesn't leave you looking too shiny. Or maybe you're after a formula that gives a more mattifying effect, but you also don't want to look so matte that your skin actually looks dry.

There are hundreds of foundations on the market, and sometimes it can still feel like there's not really one for you. In my experience, I've had the most luck with foundations that focus on the skin first, with beneficial ingredients and skin-nourishing vitamins. This month, I got the opportunity to try a foundation that promises not only to offer coverage, but also make your skin look and feel better with each wear.

Ready to Wear's Liquid Lift Firming Foundation has the sorts of stats that make any shopper pay attention, selling out more than 20 times with 30,000 units purchased from at ShopHQ. There are also plenty of rave reviews. "I wasn't expecting this foundation to be this great," one shopper wrote. "I am 70 and my skin, I've been told, looks like it's 45. I've used every foundation you can imagine. Now with using this I won't have to be on the hunt for anything else. PLEASE don't ever stop making this."

With praise like that, consider us influenced. We even got you the exclusive promo code SHOPBEAUTY20 to score 20% off, so naturally we had to try it ourselves, too.

What sets this foundation apart from so many others is the focus on skincare. The formula contains lifting polymers and its own proprietary ingredient the brand calls "RNAge," which works to smooth and lift the skin. A main component of RNAge is extracted from Hippophae Rhamnoides fruit, which is known to provide both soothing and anti-aging benefits for the skin. It also works to help boost the moisture in the skin, which can help plump deep wrinkles in mere minutes.

Now this might all sound a little hard to believe, so let me just tell you my experience with the foundation. I'm 32 years old, with redness and acne and early signs of aging, like sagging under my eyes. The foundation comes out feeling like a light mousse, so a little goes a long way. Two pumps could very easily cover my entire face and neck. As I spread it across my skin, of course I didn't see any immediate effects, but in about an hour or so, I kept on catching myself in the mirror and thinking, "Hold on, do I look younger?" I know it's hard to believe, but I did notice that the lines that pop up on my forehead (which foundation can creep into and make more noticeable) and bags under my eyes looked less prominent.

Plenty of reviews say the same, too. "It gives your skin a lift and tone," one shopper wrote. "It’s almost firmer instantly."

"I'm 70 years old and I have vitiligo on my face and have tried every brand of makeup on the market," another shopper wrote. "This is by far the best I have found. It goes on nicely and I can build for coverage but doesn't look like I have on makeup. Doesn't sit in the lines of my face."

Beyond the effect it had on my skin, what I liked about this foundation is that it really wasn't too heavy. I mostly work from home, and so I'm always in search of a lighter foundation that will make my skin look more airbrushed on video calls and cover up things like redness and acne. This did the trick. I wasn't too oily and shiny on camera, and it didn't feel like I was wearing a heavy foundation, either.

"I love this foundation!" one shopper wrote. "I am 62 and still have extremely oily skin and large pores and I don’t have to powder 30 minutes after applying."

In addition to the liquid foundation, there's also the brand's pressed powder, which comes in three different shades, and is great for layering over the foundation or on its own. Similar to the foundation, the powder has some serious stats. ShopHQ told us over 20,000 units have been purchased and it's sold out over 20 times.

I tried the Universal shade, which promises a your-skin-but-better glow. Essentially, it's packed with flecks of different color correctors, with green to cancel out any redness and purple to help brighten the skin, too. I'm extremely pale, and this powder worked absolute wonders, even just on my bare skin. With just a few swipes with the included fluffy brush, the redness around my nose disappeared, and the darker skin under my eyes really did appear lightened. My skin looked truly flawless without looking cakey.

In addition to the Universal shade, there's also one called Warm Radiance, which has more pinky tones to really brighten your skin and under-eyes. And then there's a Bronze shade, which can even out darker skin tones and works as a contour as well.

Like me, a number of shoppers also find that the foundation and powder work exceptionally well in tandem. "I have combination skin and large pores in the oily areas. Not only does [the foundation] firm the skin, it also tightened up my pores without drying out my dryer areas," one shopper wrote. "The Couture Powder also looks really nice over it without being cakey."

The Ready to Wear foundation and powder are a winning combination, and now with the code SHOPBEAUTY20, you can score 20% off any Ready to Wear purchase through March 29.
