Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has cast The Good Place's William Jackson Harper in a mystery role.

It's been confirmed the actor will make an appearance in the upcoming threequel, though Variety reports his exact role is being kept tightly under wraps.

What we do know is he'll star alongside titular superhero's Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), who are teaming with Hope's parents, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) to explore the Quantum Realm.

The recently released trailer also gave fans their first look at the MCU's newest villains, Kang the Conqueror and Krylar, who are played by Jonathan Majors and Bill Murray respectively.

Meanwhile, Big Little Lies actress Kathryn Newton stars as Scott's now grown-up daughter Cassie.

Previously speaking at San Diego Comic Con about what fans can expect to see in the film, director Peyton Reed teased: "Kicking off Phase 5 is really exciting for us because it's the third [Ant-Man] movie, it's this trilogy. But things happen in this movie that are going to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe permanently."

Harper is perhaps best known for his role as Chidi Anagonye in NBC's hit comedy The Good Place, though he recently starred in mystery series The Resort opposite How I Met Your Mother's Cristin Milioti.

The duo reunited to play a newly married couple who become embroiled in one of Yucatan's most bizarre unsolved mysteries.

Speaking to Digital Spy about how he pictures his character Noah come season two, Harper joked: "I'd love to have the biggest moustache and get to wear like a wild hat the entire time. Yeah, something like that would be dope. Maybe not necessarily twirly, I was thinking more like the moustaches that dads had in like 1983. Something like that!"

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will be released in theaters on February 17, 2023.
