Ant Anstead is growing his network! The TV personality recently spoke with People about what he's been up to since his split from HGTV mainstay Christina Haack in September 2020. From the looks of it, it appears his career is not only flourishing (he's currently got four TV projects in the works!), but his social life is, too.

"I spent six months really healing and recovering and working on myself," he told the outlet, adding that after carving out that time, he's been eager to form new relationships in the Laguna Beach area, where he currently resides. However, he's longing for a certain type of connection.

"I like to write a New Year's resolution," he explained, adding that this past January he came up with a specific goal for his vision board: "Make friends with people of substance." Anstead elaborated on what he means. In particular, he's looking for "real people, people that are just down to earth," and "people that... just their heart is in the right place."

The single dad has been working to honor his resolution. On Instagram last week, he shared a photo of himself and a couple of other men sitting around in a circle. "Making new dad friends," he wrote, tagging the Laguna Beach Parents Club.

On Monday, he also documented Hudson's new friendship. "Hudzo and Cooper are literally weeks apart," Anstead wrote alongside an adorable photo of his son and his new pal. "Same again next Monday," he continued, tagging the boy's parents, suggesting that he's become well acquainted with them as well.

Anstead has also been sharing photos with human connection specialist Mark Groves, who created the breakup recovery course he used following the split. What started a mentor relationship, appears to have evolved into a full-fledged friendship.

Although Anstead opened up last week about how he's struggling to find the perfect house for him and Hudson, he's certain he's found the right area. ""I feel like I've really made Laguna my home," he told People.
