Anonymous Hero Surfer Rescues Stranded Deer in Ocean (Video)

A deer in headlights? Nope, the ocean.

The other day, a deer got stuck in the ocean in New Jersey. And a local surfer spotted the stranded stag, helped it to shore, then fled the scene.

No names, no applause, no baby kissing. A true hero.

It all went down in Belmar, New Jersey, and it left local news crews wondering: Who is this mysterious surfing hero? Does New Jersey have its own surfing superman?

Capturing the rescue, amateur photographer Adrienne Tully told News 12 New Jersey:

"From a distance, I thought it was a bird and then I noticed it was a deer and that’s when I broke the camera out and I was taking a lot of pictures of him.

"He was swimming through the ocean and then he decided a couple of times to climb on the jetty and then he went back in the water, and we were a little worried.

"There was a nice surfer, I don’t know his name, but he eventually tried to guide the deer out. The deer came out and then just ran north on the beach, you know, far away from any people and I’m sure he’s fine.”

The surfer did his good deed, then fled the scene anonymously, just like the comics.

Another surfer noted:

"Whoever that surfer was, it was good on him to actually save it from drowning in the ocean because yesterday it was pretty turbulent in the water.”

If identified, what honor should this surfer receive?

A key to the city? Any set wave he wants? A lifetime supply of Sex Wax?

Stay tuned.
