Aimee Grey, the museum and gardens' education director, said the event will include some familiar attractions and some new ones.

"We have some old favorites, like the Anniston Police Department and Anniston Fire Department will be here with their vehicles, the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department will have their tank and then we'll have crafts and games on site," she said.

"As far as new things that we have, the Alabama Herpetological Society will be here with live reptiles and will be doing a live reptile program," Grey said.

Grey said there will be a mummy wrapping contest at the natural history museum.

A medieval Renaissance period group, The Society for Creative Anachronism, will don Renaissance costumes to demonstrate weaponry and swordsmanship, Grey said. The group will demonstrate the uses for a rapier sword — a long, narrow, pointed, two-edged sword first popular several hundred years ago.

Other activities include ghost rockets at the Berman Museum, create your own camouflage pattern with camouflage shaving cream, and two petting zoos.

"We encourage guests to dress up if they like," Grey said, "We have a lot going on, it's definitely a full day thing."

Admission includes entry to all activities, Anniston Museum of Natural History and the Berman Museum. The festival hours are from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
