Annie Jackson Named CEO of Credo Beauty

Annie Jackson has been named chief executive officer of Credo Beauty, the brand she confounded in San Francisco, Calif. in 2014 with the late Shashi Batra.

As ceo, a position previously held by Stuart Millar, who was appointed last year, Jackson will continue to accelerate Credo Beauty’s retail growth, driving product innovation and building on the company’s sustainability standards.

“Together as partners, we really led Credo through some pretty pivotal moments to prepare for this next phase of growth,” Jackson said of Millar. “So, I’m tremendously thankful for his contribution, but I’m really excited for the future.”

An innovative beauty veteran and key player in the clean movement, Jackson was formerly the chief operating officer at Credo Beauty — which sells only products it has deemed safe and nontoxic, while producing its own cosmetics brand, Exa.

Prior to creating Credo Beauty, Jackson held the role of director of merchandising at Sephora and director of brand strategy and product innovation at Benefit Cosmetics. She launched her career at Estée Lauder Companies, first serving as marketing manager in 1992.

Today, Credo Beauty has expanded in retail, opening its newest shop in Silver Lake in Los Angeles, with more than 130 brand partners and a list of more than 2,700 prohibited ingredients. Jackson has also banned single-use products.

“We have a lot going on,” she said.
