Animal Shelter's Longest-Resident Dog Is Overjoyed to Be Adopted in Tear-Jerking Video

Pappy the Pit Bull used to be the longest resident at Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, but now he's the beloved fur baby of his forever home. He was only recently adopted, and it was just as happy of an occasion as one would expect. Everyone was all smiles!

This former shelter dog was so excited to go home with his family that it was impossible not to smile. Take a look at the video from @adoptcharleston!

Congratulations, Pappy! You are going to have the time of your life in your new home, and we couldn't be happier for you. We know the staff and volunteers at the humane society feel the same way!

It brought a smile to our face to see "Pappy TRUCKIN to that car," like @tjmoore959 pointed out. He had places to be, and he wasn't going to wait another moment!

"I cried as soon as we saw this sweet Pittie's 'I'm Adopted' sign," shared commenter @little_spud98. "He's the best baby ever. Thank you guys for everything." Hold the phone--this is Pappy's new mama! She told everyone that "he's doing beautifully" and is adjusting well to life with his parents and human siblings. Now that's what we love to hear!

In fact, this proud mama shared a sweet video of Pappy's 'freedom ride' home, and we have happy tears in our eyes after watching it. He cuddled up with his human sister on the way home, and he looked as comfy as can be when he enjoyed his first nap in his forever home. If only all dogs could have a happy ending like this!
