Angelina Jolie Is Returning to Hollywood in Style

Angelina Jolie has made a few moves since filing for divorce from Brad Pitt—she started her professorship at the London School of Economics and premiered her new movie First They Killed My Father—but none as big or stylish as this one. TMZ reports that Jolie is purchasing a massive estate in Los Feliz that was owned by late director Cecil B. DeMille until his death in 1959. (DeMille, the Hollywood producer whose name became synonymous with “spectacle,” was behind 1934's Cleopatra—and Jolie spent years developing a Cleopatra passion project of her own. Coincidence? Probably.)
The home, owned by novelist Richard Grossman and art consultant Lisa Lyons had been on the market for $24.95 million since late March, and TMZ writes that she paid close to the asking price.
According to the estate’s listing on Hilton & Hyland’s Web site, the six-bedroom, 10-bathroom home with its very own street name (its address is listed as 2000 De Mille Dr.) clocks in at 11,000 square feet. The Beaux Arts style mansion was built in 1913, and Jolie and her family will be getting not just the main house, but a “multi-structure compound” on 2.1 acres with a pool house and studio house.

The realtor’s site includes a video tour, which shows off the home’s sweeping views of the Griffith Observatory (as seen in La La Land) and the ocean. The grounds include gorgeous landscaping and an old Hollywood-style pool with arched fountains.
Per TMZ, Jolie’s new neighbors will include Ellen Pompeo, Casey Affleck, Natalie Portman, Will.I.Am., David Fincher, and Lauren Graham.
