Even the best actors and actresses can't keep it together when their kids embark on their next biggest milestone. Angela Bassett revealed that she may be struggling with empty nest syndrome once her two children, fraternal twins Bronwyn and Slater Vance, head off to college.

In a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 9-1-1 star opened up about her children turning 18 back in January. "Oh I'm feeling very sad about it," she said, laughing about the matter. "I'm excited for them, I'm sad for me."

Now that Bronwyn and Slater are 18, the twins have been using their free time to tour colleges ahead of their freshman year — something that has become a hard pill for her to swallow. "I might have to go to therapy," she said. "Just do a little bit."

So, is Bassett and her husband, Courtney Vance, pushing their twins to go to a specific college? The pair, who are alumni of the Yale School of Drama, are definitely rooting for their kids to attend their former stomping grounds, but are also leaving room for them to make the best decisions for themselves when it comes time for admissions and acceptances. "I'm pushing it but not too loudly," Bassett stated. "I'm pushing it by keeping my mouth closed for now."

Following seven years of IVF treatment, Bassett and Vance welcomed Bronwyn Golden Vance and Slater Josiah Vance on Jan. 27, 2006 through a surrogate.

"I had a dream about seven years ago that we were going to have twins. I didn't know how it was going to happen," Vance told Oprah in a 2007 interview. The actress added, "Just standing there together, holding each other with the realization that this is the moment that we've been working toward, praying for … [it's a dream come true]."
