Andrew East’s Video Shows Why Son Jett Could Be Just Like His Grandpas & It’s the Dose of Sweetness You Need Today

The Johnson-East kids are full of determination. It’s in their blood. Their mom, Shawn Johnson, is an Olympic gold medalist. And their dad, Andrew East, is a retired NFL player. Just yesterday we saw kids Drew, 4 and Jett, 2 fighting over which of them got to bring their mom — who is in her “fourth trimester” with their little brother Bear — her morning coffee (and thus her morning joy!). So we were not surprised to see Jett dead set on solving a household problem.
East posted a video on Instagram of Jett on the floor in front of a chair that’s been tipped onto his side. He’s wearing his (and every toddler’s) signature outfit — a T-shirt and diaper — with a serious expression on his face.

“This chair broke so our 2-year-old went to get his plastic toolbox and tried to fix it,” he wrote over the video with two crying emojis. Because how could you not get misty-eyed watching that adorable moment?!
He is surrounded by little screwdrivers, a hammer, a drill, and a wrench, and is holding the wheel up to the bottom of the chair to get an idea of how to get the job done.
“He is who I aspire to be,” East captioned the post.
Followers are totally in love with this thoughtful little guy and think he gets these instincts from his late grandfathers who both worked with tools. Johnson’s father, Doug Johnson, was a farmer, and East’s dad, Guy East, worked in construction.

Earlier this month, Johnson shared an adorable video of Drew and Jett meeting their baby brother, and followers could not believe Jett’s reaction. In the clip, the siblings sit on a chair, and Jett has his arms wrapped around Bear. At one point, the infant gets fussy. That would usually make a kid (or adult!) panic, but Jett calmly looks down at the little guy and doesn’t move an inch.
“…The calm way he’s holding little Bear is the cutest,” one follower commented. “So mature and not at all like his wild child ways. Taking big bro status seriously. 😍 For now, anyway. 😂”
“So tender ❤️❤️,” another said.
Seems like he’s as committed to being a stellar big brother as he is to fixing that chair. We have no doubt he’ll succeed at the former, and if he was given real tools, he could probably nail the latter too.
