  • Anderson Cooper shared a photo of his son Wyatt, 1, watching him host Jeopardy!.

  • Wyatt had never seen Cooper on TV before, and the adorable picture makes that obvious.

  • Fans are loving Cooper behind the Jeopardy! podium.

Monday began CNN anchor Anderson Cooper’s tenure as a Jeopardy! guest host. And to no one’s surprise, the longtime broadcaster impressed viewers with his natural ability to lead the game. But there’s one review we’re still holding out on—from Cooper’s son, Wyatt, who spent the evening attentively watching his dad on TV for the very first time.

Cooper shared a snapshot of Wyatt, nearly 1, sitting on a bed with his toy ball in hand, facing the TV, and appearing to be genuinely engaged with the show. “Wyatt has never seen me on tv before, and he likely won’t for a long while, but apparently he caught a bit of me on @Jeopardy!” he captioned the post. “It was a dream come true to be guest hosting, and to pay tribute to #AlexTrebek and raise money for @hashaiti.”

Because it might be one of the cutest photos to ever exist, the likes and comments flooded in. “Bless his heart,” Sharon Stone commented. “Love this!” Cooper’s longtime friend Andy Cohen wrote. “My heart. Exploded,” another added. “How cute is that concentration of Daddy watching!” someone else wrote.

Cooper’s stint behind the podium comes after NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ two-week run. And although Cooper has spent the majority of his career working on live television, he admitted to catching a bit of nerves before stepping on set.

“I rarely get nervous, but I definitely was the first moment I stood behind Alex Trebek’s podium,” he captioned an Instagram post. “It was a great honor and very moving for me. I have watched @Jeopardy since I was in high school (back when I had brown hair.) I am such a fan of the show and miss watching Alex, who was the perfect host, and conducted himself with such intelligence, humor, and grace. I will be on for the next two weeks, April 19-30th. I hope I do ok.”

So far, according to plenty of fans, he’s doing great. “Wow Anderson Cooper is almost TOO good! Didn’t seem like he was a guest host at all,” one viewer tweeted. “Anderson Cooper’s voice fits #jeopardy vibes,” another wrote. “Voting Anderson Cooper for permanent host....and it’s not even close. 20 minutes in and it feels like home,” another added.

Although the reviews are promising, it’s unclear if Cooper would even accept the permanent role. He’s pretty busy as it is, and of course, wants to spend as much time as he can with Wyatt, whose first birthday is right around the corner on April 27.

In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the talk show host asked Cooper how they plan to celebrate. “I’m a really bad planner,” Cooper admitted. “I haven’t really planned anything yet.” And because Wyatt is so young and won’t fully understand the occasion, he joked that he might just stage a party.

“You know how they staged the moon landing? I’m just gonna stage this,” he joked. “I’ll get a prop cake and put on a hat and [have] balloons and maybe hire some people to stand around, and then years from now I can show him he had a great [first] birthday party.”

Later, he regressed, adding: “Yes, I will probably get a couple friends and have a [real] party.”
