The Safari Experts at AndBeyond Are Launching a New Expedition Yacht in the Galápagos Islands This Summer

AndBeyond is the latest hospitality heavyweight to dive into yachting.

The luxury travel company, known for running exclusive safaris and tailored tours in Africa, Asia, and South America, will launch a new expedition yacht in the Galápagos Islands this summer. Aptly christened andBeyond Galapagos Explorer, the 124-footer will operate on two routes in the east and west of the famous archipelago.

“A uniquely biodiverse environment with the highest number of endemic species in the world, the Galápagos is a natural choice for the further expansion of our portfolio in South America,” andBeyond executive chairman and CEO Joss Kent said in a statement.

The company says the explorer will be the most exclusive yacht operating in the Galápagos, with a maximum of 12 guests allowed onboard. (There are already a few luxe superyachts operating in the area that give it a run for its money, though.) The vessel, which is currently undergoing an extensive interior makeover, features four generous cabins, two lavish suites, and relaxation areas both indoors and out. The generous crew-to-guest ratio ensures you’re always looked after, too.

Two knowledgeable guides will join each trip, helping travelers learn about this exceptional destination and the challenges it is facing. Comprising 18 main islands, three smaller islands, and 107 rocks and islets, the Galápagos is home to a remarkable variety of flora and fauna, with many species found nowhere else on Earth. Highlights include the Galápagos giant tortoise, marine iguana, and blue-footed booby.

“We have long believed that the best way to encourage our guests to help protect the world’s wild places is for our skilled guides to help travelers not only fall in love with those places, but also to gain an understanding of the threats that they are facing,” Kent adds.

The two seven-night adventures will allow seafarers to explore east or west of the main cluster of islands. The eastern itinerary includes a stop at the magnificent formation of Kicker Rock and the opportunity to see the endangered waved albatross in Gardner Bay on Española Island, while the western Itinerary includes a journey to the geographical center of the Galápagos Islands and potential close encounters with the rare Santa Fe land iguana on Santa Fe Island. On both trips, guests can partake in snorkeling, hiking, and birdwatching.

Pioneers of responsible tourism, andBeyond is planning to implement projects that support the land and wildlife of the Galápagos. It is also hoping to train or upskill residents and spotlight the local culture. That means you can feel extra good while cruising the Pacific Ocean.

AndBeyond Galapagos Explorer will set sail on June 17. Rates for the seven-night cruises start at $10,950 per person, based on double occupancy. For more information or to book, contact andBeyond or your preferred travel provider.
