From Cosmopolitan

Senator Amy Klobuchar, who btw has been working in politics since the early '90s, has always been willing to fight for her beliefs. It’s clearly stated in her birth chart that this Minnesota-based politician isn’t afraid to call out bullsh*t. You see, astrologers (like me, hi) use a person’s birth date, time, and location to map out the sky at the moment of their ~arrival~ on Earth. While each planet has a specific purpose (the Sun symbolizes identity, the Moon represents inner emotions, etc.), they act differently depending on which zodiac sign they occupy.

Unfortunately, we don’t have access to Senator Klobuchar’s time of birth, but we do know that she was born on May 25, 1960 in Plymouth, Minnesota. This limited info still allows us to peep into her celestial profile, so let’s get to peepin’!

GEMINI SUN

When bb Amy came into the world, the Sun was in the sign of Gemini. Alright, let’s be honest. You’ve probably heard that this air sign has a bit of a…well, reputation. But don’t believe the (negative) hype! Although Gemini is symbolized by the twins, this sign isn’t necessarily two-faced. Their duality simply shows the amazing dimensionality of their curiosity. They’re interested in sooo many things that they needed to clone themselves!

It’s no surprise that Gemini is known to be fast-talking, quick-witted wordsmiths who excel at humor. And Amy fits the part: In a 2019 interview with NPR, she said that she uses “humor to distinguish herself among the candidates.” What’s more, in that same interview, she explained that President Donald Trump, a fellow Gemini, also incorporates comedy into his messaging. “People don't realize that you may not think what he says is funny, but he is using humor,” she said. Gemini recognizes Gemini!

Amy's Most Gemini Sun Quote

On how she trolls her daughter: "One of the funny tips I give to other moms is when I would text her and she wouldn’t text back for a while, I started doing things like saying, 'I’m on a plane and the doors are closing and I won’t have service.' And that made her respond or respond to a call because she knew that I wouldn’t talk that long or text that long. That was my one tip. Yeah. So if your mom does that, beware."

GEMINI MOON

But Amy isn’t just a Gemini Sun—she’s also a Gemini Moon. Astrologically, this means she was born under a New Moon, when the Sun and Moon occupy the same zodiac sign. The New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle, so those born under this phase often exhibit an almost childlike, exuberant optimism. Since the Sun (external identity) and Moon (internal sensitivities) are aligned, there is an easy flow between how the person expresses themselves and how they feel about their realities. In other words, you get what you see.

As a Gemini New Moon, Amy is totally and completely obsessed with communication. It’s very important for this Minnesota senator to feel “understood” and, likewise, she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Gemini can also be a bit impulsive. In certain situations, Amy may say things before she thinks about them, leading to some frustrating foot-in-mouth moments that require a bit of backpedaling.

But that’s NBD for a triple(!) Gemini (Amy’s Mercury is also in this placement)—one thing every Gemini boasts is an innate ability to talk their way out of even the stickiest situations.

Amy's Most Gemini Moon Quote:

"A reporter asked me in the hallway, like a decade ago, 'What are you getting your husband for Christmas?' And I thought it will never show up anywhere. I go, 'I’m getting him one of those GPS'—this is the early days of GPS. And I said, 'We always get into arguments about directions because he won’t look at a map and he won’t call anyone.” And I said, 'I figured a soothing woman’s voice on this GPS thing would be good for him.' And it ended up in the Washington Post, all over the country. He was so embarrassed and mad at me that he didn’t install it for six months."

AND NOW, AN ASTROLOGICAL PREDICTION FOR AMY:

Amy is in the midst of her second Saturn Return. If you haven’t heard of this astrological milestone, it’s when Saturn (the taskmaster of the zodiac) concludes its full 29-year orbit, coming back (aka returning) to its exact position at your moment of birth. We experience the Saturn Return approximately every 30 years, marking an important life transition.

While Amy may not be the frontrunner in the 2020 Presidential election, she is certainly undergoing a cataclysmic transformation as she actively shapes her legacy. Honestly, with such a Gemini-heavy chart, if this whole White House thing doesn’t work out, I wouldn’t be surprised if Amy’s next pursuit is in media. A Coffee with Klobuchar morning show, anyone??
