Ana Gimeno Brugada Is Rewriting Style Norms, One Suit at a Time

The Spanish-born stylist and consultant wears a suit better than any man.

Way back in 2016, Vogue compiled a list of the best dressed men in fashion. Of the 29 entries, one was a woman: Ana Gimeno Brugada. The Spanish-born, Italy-based stylist and consultant was heralded as “the human being putting the freshest, most modern twists on traditional menswear staples.” Elsewhere she’s been deemed the most fashionable person at Pitti Uomo and the best “flat shoes” wearer in the world. She’s a repeat in every one of our seasonal street style slideshows, and someone who writes the fashion rules for herself.

As Brugada tells it, her sense of style was “always like this.” She describes her wardrobe as rooted in “a lot of similar pieces, which I perceive very different and diverse. For me everything is about details.” That means you can find her in a plaid overcast, just-so cropped tuxedo pants, and Prada loafers or a full navy suit with a whimsical tie. In her own words, she described her style as “simple , very precise, and evident.” We’d say it’s understatedly unmissable. Watch for her at the Spring 2019 shows this season.
